This Is Not a Government Office. Essex County Criminal History is a private reference site. It cannot obtain official background checks, retrieve or amend records, accept an expungement filing, or act for any Essex County or Virginia agency. Those services remain with the responsible public office.

For a case file, use the Essex County court lookup guide and contact the clerk for the court that handled it.
